Camp Unali will be held
August 1 - August 6, 2010 at Brethren Woods Camp and Retreat Center located in Keezletown, VA. If you, or anyone you know, are interested in volunteering time for this special camp (counselors, cooks, nurses, doctors, etc), please contact us as soon as possible.
Camp Unali's mission is to establish and uphold a positive-based recreational camping experience, and provide a unique support system for children and families affected by cancer. The programs offered are available free of charge, and facilitate opportunities for fun and exciting experiences. We strive to create happy memories and experiences for children to carry with them as they face the challenge of life after medical treatment.
Our goals are to provide respite care for children affected by cancer or sickle cell, giving them a chance to "just be kids" in a carefree environment where they can have fun. Our expectation is to give the children motivation, courage, and establish a network of emotional support. With a combined vision of dedicated staff members and strong volunteer groups, Camp Unali will provide all of its campers with the courage to fight these illnesses with the expectation of a successful recovery.
